Jim is an adviser to and investor in technology-based businesses. Over the past 10 years he has advised senior executives at communications and high technology industry leaders. By example, he recently sold and delivered AT&T’s Consumer Strategic Marketing Plan (10/07), Verizon’s Global Business Strategy (03/08) and Magyar Telekom’s
Transformation Strategy (08/07). Other clients include Lucent, Nortel, Bell Canada, BCE Capital, Soros Fund Management, Harborvest, Madison Dearborn and other Private Equity funds.
Prior to consulting, Jim was an active investor and entrepreneur. His early stage investments included Desktop Data and Business Research, both acquired by Thompson Publishing. He also acquired controlling interest in and restructured Nabi Biopharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: nabi) where he was VP of R&D and represented the controlling shareholder group as a member of the Board of Directors.
Jim has a BS in Life Science from MIT and an MBA from Harvard. He is on the Board of Overseers for the New England Aquarium and is a member of the New York Explorer’s Club
