Jim joined Medline in 1992 where he started as a sales representative. Since then he has held various management positions within the company until being named COO in 1997. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned his law degree from the University of Chicago. Upon graduation from U of C, he worked for
the law firm Kirkland and Ellis.
