Jeff Clark is an experienced education senior executive who joined Avenues in November 2013 as president and chief operating officer. For the last two years, he served as a consultant to educational organizations, including Avenues, focusing on teaching and learning, assessment and growth strategies. From 2005 to 2012, Jeff served as president and
CEO of National Heritage Academies (NHA), one of the nation’s largest education management organizations, which serves more than 50,000 students at 76 public charter schools in ten states. In this role, Jeff led a team of 4,000 people, managed a $400 million budget and oversaw all aspects of the organization. Under Jeff’s leadership, the organization grew by 20 schools, had 100 percent of its charters renewed, provided strong returns to shareholders and significantly improved student learning outcomes.
Prior to joining NHA in 2005, Jeff held various leadership positions in investment and corporate banking. He served as community president of National City Bank and president of Westwater Group, a diversified management and investment company in Grand Rapids, MI with interests in education, manufacturing and other industries.
Jeff earned a B.A. degree in political science from Hope College (Holland, MI) and subsequently served on their board of trustees.
