Jeb A. Kratzig is a general manager with nearly twenty years of leadership experience in high-volume retail operations. His career has been defined by accountability, structure, and trust, which allow him to create environments where employees perform consistently and confidently. Over time, he has guided store teams through change, developed
employees into leadership roles, and increased profitability through disciplined execution and thoughtful planning. He is recognized for stabilizing underperforming groups, retaining talent, and managing steady performance in dynamic retail conditions.
Born in 1978 in Bellingham, Washington, he became active in athletics and learned the value of discipline and teamwork early in life. In high school, he earned recognition as the 1996 Bellingham Herald Football Player of the Year and was named an All-State Quarterback in 1997. These early achievements helped shape the focus and determination that would later define his leadership style.
He entered the grocery and retail industry in 2008. By the following year, he had moved into leadership, setting the stage for steady career growth. From 2009 onward, he worked in Washington and California, managing diverse operational challenges and learning to balance employee needs with customer and business demands. These experiences gave him a strong foundation for his later responsibilities as a general manager.
In 2014, Jeb Kratzig became a General Manager, a role he still holds today. He currently oversees a high-volume retail store in Cathedral City, California, where he leads a workforce of more than 90 employees across multiple shifts. His position requires strong scheduling, clear communication, and the ability to manage through several layers of leadership. Working with assistant managers, senior crew members, and floor leads, he ensures that store goals are aligned with daily execution.
A key strength in his career has been his ability to manage operations across multiple departments. Instead of allowing teams to become disconnected, he promotes cross-functional communication and keeps systems integrated. This approach avoids unnecessary barriers, keeps departments aligned, and ensures consistent performance during routine and high-volume periods.
Team retention is one of the strongest reflections of his leadership. Jeb’s stores regularly experience lower turnover than national averages due to his focus on presence, trust, and accountability. He has helped promote more than 15 employees into leadership positions, supporting their growth with coaching, clear feedback, and direct expectations. He views leadership as an opportunity to develop people for the long term rather than focusing only on immediate outcomes.
Operational discipline has also played a significant role in his success. He is process-oriented and believes that consistent systems lead to dependable results. His involvement spans inventory management, wage optimization, seasonal ordering, and merchandising. By refining scheduling to align with customer traffic, improving inventory planning, and applying quarterly performance data to forecasting, he has reduced waste while maintaining strong customer service. These adjustments have supported profitability and made his operations more agile in adapting to seasonal and unexpected shifts.
He is also known for his communication skills in coaching and conflict management. He addresses issues directly, provides clear reasoning behind his expectations, and creates space for dialogue while maintaining accountability. His coaching combines immediate feedback with scheduled development sessions, always tied to specific goals. He also includes de-escalation principles in training, preparing employees to respond to customer concerns with professionalism and confidence.
In 2017, he was recognized as Captain of the Year, a company-level award for leadership and results. His repeated nominations in other years demonstrated the consistency of his impact and the strength of his leadership over time.
Outside of work, he lives in La Quinta, California, with his wife, whom he married in 2016. He stays active through strength training and closely follows football, supporting the Washington Huskies and the Seattle Seahawks.
Through his career, Jeb Kratzig has shown that accountability, structure, and trust are the foundation for effective leadership. His focus on developing people, refining systems, and maintaining steady operations continues to define his work as a general manager.
