Jay Kolmar is a commercial real estate attorney who has worked with a variety of clients, including commercial and investment banks, owners, developers, and life insurance companies, during his 30-year career. A graduate of Colgate University, he completed his juris doctor at Cornell University Law School and has since garnered expertise in all
types of real estate transactions, such as office, retail, multifamily, and industrial/warehouse. Jay Kolmar has negotiated and closed billions of dollars worth of commercial real estate transactions, while providing clients with constructive advice from a legal and business perspective.
Among other specific transactions, Jay Kolmar has represented investment banks and individual investors in private equity deals for property developers and owners and investment banks in CMBS loans, ground lease financings, and fixed and adjustable rate permanent loans. He also has experience in commercial real estate transactions involving environmental issues and partnership/LLC matters.
Jay Kolmar currently offers his expertise to the White Plains, New York-based Fentin Goldman Turk & Davidoff LLP as senior counsel and chair of its Commercial Real Estate Practice Group. A community-minded attorney, he has served on the board of directors of New Jersey Special Olympics and the Boy Scouts of America's Morris/Sussex Counties Council. His extracurricular interests include travel, tennis, golf, art and architecture.
