A true user interface fanatic, mentor, product evangelist, entrepreneur, bleeding edge early adopter of emergent design. He has focused his career on digital products that blend lifestyle, technology, mobility, disruptive innovations and experimental electronica (one may interpret this as music or software).
Jason has nearly two decades of
experience in UX design for content, news media & publishing and more than five years of multidisciplinary design team management for media organizations. He is passionate about collaborating with, inspiring and leading diverse groups of creative and technical professionals. Most recently he was Head of User Experience Design & Product at The Huffington Post where he was responsible for a total overhaul of their navigation and site architecture to accommodate rapid content scale and international language support.
Previously he worked in London at the BBC Future Media & Technology group as Head of UX&D for Multiplatform (incl. the internationally recognized BBC iPlayer). While at the BBC Jason was part of the core design leadership team to spearhead the GEL (Global Experience Language) a design platform to create a seamless interactive experiences across web, mobile and IPTV products.
Prior to the BBC, Fields held senior roles in the mobile design sector and the startup sector including Bill Gross' Idealab! in Pasadena, CA. He was previously a UX consultant to many agencies developing their first websites for clientele in the early 90s.
Jason currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and almost teenage son.
