Professor Jane Long commenced at La Trobe University in December 2012 and is currently Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Prior to her current appointment she was Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) and Winthrop Professor of History at the University of Western Australia, where she also held positions as Director of the Centre for Women's Studies and
Dean of Undergraduate Studies. At UWA, Jane was responsible for leading strategy and planning for learning and teaching including e-learning and regional initiatives. She received a national ALTC Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Learning and Teaching in 2005, was a finalist for a National Teaching Award in 2006, and led a team which won an ALTC national Programs Award in relation to postgraduate education in 2008.
