James Rinaldi is a co-founder at Immortal, a stealth mode startup headquartered in Palo Alto. Immortal is building the next generation platform for large enterprises, governments, and Fortune 500 corporations.
Rinaldi is a former CIO of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Before joining NASA,
he was the CIO at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA), where he had overall responsibility for the planning, development, and delivery of information systems across the U.S. FDA. Prior to the FDA, he was the Chief of Information Technology Services and Chief of Business Systems Integration at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). While at the IRS, Rinaldi helped develop the Free Tax Alliance e-Gov initiative as well as provide guidance and expertise on the IRS Modernization efforts.
He is an award recipient of the Federal 100 – the top executives from the government, industry, and academia who had the greatest impact on the government information systems community.
