A 36 year bond market veteran, J.R. is currently a principal at Triangle Park Capital Markets Data (aka TPCMD). J.R. leads the product management role for Triangle Park’s municipal bond data offerings. J.R. also provides his market insights and perspectives on the U.S. bond markets via his blogs and research under the “Rieger Report”. Before

joining Triangle Park, J.R. was the Managing Director and Global Head of Fixed Income Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices. While at S&P Dow Jones Indices J.R. developed and launched a global suite of debt market indices resulting in investable index products in 12 countries and totaling over $46billion in assets. Innovative indices launched under J.R.’s leadership include S&P Municipal Series (maturing indices), the S&P 500 Bond Index family, the S&P Green Bond Index family and the first ever factor- based U.S. high yield corporate bond index. During this role, J.R. presented on the bond markets around the globe at industry events and represented S&P as a subject matter expert on the bond markets with the financial media in both print and television. Prior to joining S&P Dow Jones Indices, J.R. developed his bond market skills over a 26 year period at S&P’s bond valuation business and concluded his bond valuation career as the Global Head of Bond Evaluations at S&P Securities Evaluations Services. His role included bond pricing oversight, chair of the S&P Bond Pricing Committee, regulatory point of contact, mutual fund board of director and pricing committee presentations and speaking about the bond markets around the globe. During his tenure at S&P Securities Evaluations J.R. also provided expert witness testimony multiple times on the valuation of distressed bonds. J.R. is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of New York, National Federation of Municipal Analysts, Municipal Analysts Group of New York, and the Fixed Income Analysts Society. J.R. is a graduate of the Widener University with a B.S. in Business Administration and Master’s from Adelphi University’s Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.
