As Chief Financial Officer James provides strategic leadership for all financial and accounting operations across all Myron Steves companies. He is dedicated to streamlining processes and continually improving internal efficiency in everything from financial reporting and analysis to budget planning. Since joining Myron Steves in 2002, James has

been instrumental in seeking out and implementing financial software that increases automation and improves reporting and forecasting capabilities. Additionally, James is proactive in working with legislators on passing bills beneficial to the insurance industry and Myron Steves. He represents the company in interactions with auditors, banks, Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and in handling other financial matters.

James started his career at KPMG as an audit assistant, specializing in insurance, and was promoted through roles of increasing responsibility, ending as an audit manager. He spent two years working in London, England responsible for auditing large international insurance groups. He then joined Highlands Insurance Group as Controller and was eventually promoted to Vice President of Finance. At Highlands Insurance Group, among other accomplishments, James facilitated the financial and accounting aspects of the acquisition of five insurance companies at the same time. He helped successfully merge all financial and accounting related operations into Highlands existing financial system within three months.

James holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Lamar University and he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
