Mr. James Dou has over 10 years of experience in micro/nano fabrication and microfluidics. In 2006 James initiated the technology transfer from a University of Toronto research project, which led to the founding of ChipCare. Since 2006, James has been leading the commercialization project to transfer the biophotonic lab-on-a-chip technology
developed as part of his master’s thesis at the University of Toronto. In 2009, the project was awarded the winner of the Great Canadian Innovation Competition, hosted by Canadian Business Magazine. He was the recipient of 2012 University of Toronto Inventor of the Year award and a prestigious Heffernan Fellowship to commercialize university research.
