Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Jake is the latest addition to the Leti management team, and has been developing, producing and directing video games and digital media for over 20 years.
Prior to joining Leti in early 2016 he was a creative director at the UK’s prestigious Aardman Animations – one of the world’s most respected creative studios. There
he directed a wide variety of video games, creative tools, interactive education and digital arts – accruing many millions of players for both Aardman and external clients alike.
His releases have won several awards including TIGA’s Best Game with a Purpose in 2015, as well as BAFTA nominations for best Multiplatform in 2013, and best Interactive Original in 2015.
In 2014 Jake was a featured ‘Genius’ and judge on the BBC’s Appsolute Genius show – an 8-part kid’s TV series about video games. He helped design and run the show’s nationwide creative game design competition, judging the entries with fellow ‘gaming royalty’ and Prince Andrew at Buckingham Palace, and was responsible for transforming the winning idea into a world-class game which reached #1 in the kid’s category on the UK App Store.
He has a keen eye for originality, talent and stories that simply need to be told – with the deep experience and know-how to make it happen.
Jake firmly believes that people across Africa and in the diaspora are due equal representation, that the global gaming landscape is in dire need of an authentic high-quality African voice, and that Leti Arts is the studio to deliver on all fronts.
