fter spending two years in the corporate banking department of Paribas, Jacques d’Estais joined the trading room, and more precisely the Treasury department, before shortly joining the derivatives team.
In 1988, Jacques d’Estais moved to London to assume responsibility for the development of interest rate options. This was an interesting time
for him because everything had to be created from scratch, and he recalls this period as a sort of “conquest of the west”. In 1991, he took the helm of the equity derivatives activity.
He moved to Japan in 1995 to take up the position of General Manager of Paribas Capital Markets Japan. Subsequently, he returned to London in January 1999 to become General Secretary of Fixed Income.
During the merger of BNP and Paribas, in June 2000, Jacques d’Estais was appointed Global Head of Fixed Income for BNP Paribas. Fixed Income covers all bond, derivatives and FX activities worldwide.
