Inanc got his Bachelor’s from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. In 2006, he started his graduate program in electrical engineering at the University of California, San Diego as a Fullbright Scholar. He received his Master’s Degree in 2008, and is currently pursuing a PhD in the same department while working at the university’s
Moores Cancer Center on nanotechnological approaches to improve cancer therapy.
In 2011, Inanc placed second in the UC San Diego Entrepreneur Challenge with a business plan for his invention, a medical device for rapid on-site detection of hospital-acquired infections.
In 2012, he won the grand prize in the national Collegiate Inventors Competition for another invention – a theraputic approach that dramatically reduces the side effects of cancer therapy. He then co-founded DevaCell Inc. around that technology and, after graduating, will serve as the company’s chief scientific officer.
On the side, Ortac founded GameOnX, a mobile application development company. He co-designed and programmed their first game, “Eenek”, which was launched in 2012 for iOS and soon made the top 50 list.
