Dr. Ian Reight - Experienced General Surgeon, Robotic Surgery Proctor A general surgeon at Maine General Medical Center since 2012, Dr. Ian Reight is experienced in trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and robotic surgery. Additionally, Dr. Ian Reight has served in numerous leadership roles, including vice president and president of medical
staff and medical director of the breast center, surgical quality, and hyperbaric and wound care. Furthermore, he was the lead surgeon for robotic surgery and chair of the Robotic Steering Committee.
Dr. Reight previously served as a staff surgeon and medical director for outpatient wound care at Central Maine Medical Center from 2008 to 2012 and an EMS medical director at the Auburn Fire Department from 2014 to 2018. Since 2017, he has also worked as a proctor and consultant for robotic surgery at Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale, California.
Dr. Ian Reight has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and a medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas. Before completing his higher education, he served as a volunteer paramedic and firefighter at Prince George’s County Fire and as a wound care specialist and trauma technician at Dimensions Health Corporation in Cheverly, Maryland. He completed his surgical residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital with the University of South Carolina.
