Ian is a co-founder of Telicent, building open, standards-based technology for data sharing. Prior to Telicent, Ian was CTO at illumr, building customer-facing data science applications.
Ian has a degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in data mapping (ETL). He is a fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and a fellow of the
Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET). His early career concentrated on legacy data migration and data model re-engineering.
He first started working with formal ontologies in the mid-nineties, and has developed a number of ontology-based products as we as other apps around deep neural nets, clustering, market segmentation and geo analytics.
