Horacio Melo was the director of Start-Up Chile – the biggest startup community in the world – for 3 years. He lead the organization from the year 2011. In his role in the program he was one of the key persons for the scale up of the program and the consolidation in terms of selection of the projects, internal operation and international reach.
Now, he decided to make a turn in his life and become a full time entrepreneur. He left Start-Up Chile to focus on Solarity an startup that aims to increase the access to a clean and more affordable energy in LatAm, helping businesses and homeowners adopt clean power while saving on energy costs. He is also director and co-founder of Yeba.me an on demand ride-sharing startup which seeks to make ride-sharing mainstream in Latin-American cities, strengthening the role that sharing-economy plays in LatAm. Previously Horacio worked in Procter & Gamble, holding regional positions in Marketing, having an active role in the expansion of the position that the brand under his umbrella had in Brazil, among others.
