Helmuth graduated in 1964 from the Munich University of Applied Science in Germany with a Bachelors degree of Science in Internal Climate Technology. He worked 3 years as consulting engineer in Holland before moving to Switzerland to work 10 years as Head of engineering for Sulzer Brothers AG in Winterthur and Lausanne. In 1979 Helmuth founded
Barcol‐Air AG in Stäfa Switzerland where he was the Director till he sold the company to Siebe/Invesys Plc in 1996. After the sell Helmuth acted as the Managing Director till 2001 and till 2006 as Technical Director for Barcol‐Air AG. In 2007 Helmuth founded Barcol‐Air Ltd. in Oxford CT.
