Dr. H Harish Hande is presently the CEO of SELCO Foundation. Till May 2014 he was the Managing Director of SELCO INDIA a social enterprise that provided sustainable energy services to underserved households in rural India.As of today it has served more than 1 million people.
Dr. Hande earned his Doctorate in energy engineering (solar specialty)
at the University of Massachusetts (Lowell). He has an undergraduate degree in Energy Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. Dr. Hande serves on the boards of many organizations, both national and international. In 2011, Dr. Hande was awarded the Magsaysay Award, which sometimes is referred to as the Asian Nobel Prize.
