Hans Clevers MD PhD, venture partner, joined LSP in 2001. He is director of the Hubrecht Laboratory/Netherlands Institute of Developmental Biology. Hans received his MD from the University of Utrecht in 1984 and his PhD from the same university in 1985.
For his postdoctoral training Hans, joined the group of C. Terhorst at the
Harvard-affiliated Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In 1989, he returned to the University of Utrecht and became Professor and Chairman of the Department of Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, and, since 2002, Professor in Molecular Genetics.Hans has authored numerous publications in leading journals, including Nature, Science and Cell.
He has been a member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences (KNAW) since 2000 and is the recipient of several awards, including the prestigious Spinoza Award in 2001, the Louis Jeantet Prize in 2004, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Katharine Berkan Judd Award in 2005 and the Rabbi Shai Shacknai Prize in 2006.
