Guive Balooch is the global vice president of the Connected Beauty Incubator at L’Oréal Research and Innovation, dedicated to bringing new scientifically driven ecosystems to beauty consumers worldwide. A native of California, Balooch has a scientific background, with a BA in molecular and cell biology from the University of California, Berkeley,
and a PhD in biomaterials from the University of California, San Francisco.
Following a postdoc at Stanford in cell biomechanics, he joined the pharmaceutical industry working on new antibody research for bone-related diseases. He then joined L’Oréal in 2008, initially a part of building new collaborations for L’Oréal with startups and universities. With his increased interest in linking to consumers and the business, he is now running a worldwide connected beauty incubator focused on new technologies for the beauty market and scoping and implementing new consumer experiences for every beauty need. His passion lies in the link between bringing new and exciting scientific technology to empower beauty consumers and improve their routines and behaviors.
