Co-founder Greg Hesterberg was chairman of two statewide consumer and environmental organizations (MaryPIRG and PIRGIM) while in college at the University of Maryland and law school at the University of Michigan. After school Greg ran a local publishing company in Ann Arbor Michigan for over 20 years. As the Internet grew he developed an early
local entertainment website and became an Ebay seller. He became intrigued by the potential this new concept held to bring people together and help charities and other non-profits raise money and increase their impact.
