Greg Benson has 12 years of experience within accounting departments of rapidly growing, early stage companies. Greg joined Sapling Learning in September of 2010 as the Director of Finance. Leveraging his extensive accounting, management, and organizational experience, Greg has consolidated the tasks being handled by two outside contractors and
internal resources. Greg has formalized the budget and reporting procedures and led the company through its first financial audit as of 4/30/11.
Prior to joining Sapling Learning, Greg was the Controller at Boundless Network, a VC-funded promotional marketing distributor. The company had revenue of $5 million when he started in 2006 and had grown to an annual revenue rate of $40 million in 2010.
From 2001 to 2006, Greg worked in the health care industry with United Surgical Partners Inc (USPI) where he was the Regional Finance Manager for the company's surgical hospital division in the US and the UK. USPI was privately held, IPO's in mid-2001 and had revenues of $475 million in 2005.
Greg is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of North Texas, Denton.
