Gilles Mathieu was appointed General Manager of IBS in 2002 after joining the company as Operations Manager in 1987 when he began his career. After receiving his PhD in Physics, he took worked in numerous Research Programs relating to ion beam and surface treatment technologies . He developed an expertise in high-tech domains such as vacuum and
ultra high vacuum, plasma, ion source, beam line implant, beam transport, surface analysis.
In 2001, Gilles Mathieu initiated the project and supervised the conception and implementation of the first R&D ion implanter sold by IBS. He is the author of 20 publications (semiconductor, ion implantation, plasma) and hold 5 patents relating to physics, implant and gas metrology.
