George joined 3i's Banking Team as a Director in July 2011. The Banking Team is responsible for the firm's relationship with its financing institutions and provides specialist in-house debt financing advice and support to the private equity activities of 3i and its portfolio companies.
George has worked on financing transactions for
many of 3i’s portfolio companies, including Action, Basic Fit, Element, Eltel, ESG, Lekolar and OneMed.
He has 19 years of banking experience, having started his career with Barclays Bank in 1994. George subsequently worked for Barclays Capital (1997-2000), Bank of America (2000-2003) and The Royal Bank of Scotland (2003-2011). Over the bulk of this period, he specialised in the origination, structuring and execution of European leveraged debt transactions in a lead capacity. George has also held positions in leveraged loan syndications and in corporate restructuring.
George holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College (University of London), a BSc (Hons) degree in Financial Services from UMIST and a MSc degree in Operational Research from Strathclyde University.
