Geoff has been working as a computer professional for over 20 years. After leaving university his first job was "hacking" medical databases using a hex editor and lots of C. He went on to work for the first ever dedicated sports TV company, SiS Ltd. Here he honed the craft of C with real-time gambling software, whilst also learning C++
& .net technologies amongst others. After releasing numerous systems that powered the multi-million pound gambling industry for bookmakers, he decided that he wanted a new challenge and left to become an iPhone programmer. He went on to build an app & a startup with an old friend, Mark Spofforth. The app was lovefre.sh & crowdsourced food information. They failed to monetize the app, but Geoff fell in love with Ruby & Ruby on Rails & went onto contracting work in this technology stack, which included work with intenthq, Fitzdares, Arena Flowers, Kelkoo & Kelisto, & Smarta insurance. In 2014 he started a contract, via Pivotal Labs, to help build the first ever Sports Crowdfunding website for Tifosy. In 2015 he joined Tifosy full time to become their first CTO.
