Geoff Bennett received a B. Sc. in polymer engineering from Loughborough University, United Kingdom, in 1983, and worked as a materials research scientist before moving into the networking area in 1986 with router pioneer, Proteon. He has worked in technical roles in the telecommunications industry for over 25 years at companies such as Wellfleet,
FORE Systems, and Marconi, where he held the position of Distinguished Engineer. He has been with Infinera for eight years and is a director of solutions and technology, responsible for technology evangelism and technical sales support. He has been the author or co-author of numerous papers, and the author of Designing TCP/IP Internetworks (VNR).
