Gary's family's home voicemail recording goes a little something like this - "You have reached the home of Charlie, Luca and their staff...". As part of his "staff" responsibilities, he found himself looking for a basketball camp for his son in the winter of 2011. He found one and sent out an email to the parents of 12
of his son's friends to see if they were interested in the same camp. Overnight, 10 of the 12 parents signed their kids up. Charlie was happy because he was going to camp with his buddies. The parents were happy because they discovered a previously unknown activity for their kids to do with their buddies. And the camp was happy because it filled up ovenight and received $1,500 in revenues. All from one email. Gary thought to himself, "Why isn’t there a social network platform for all the parents in our circle to share activity ideas and generate the same happiness that was generated by the one email. Every day.” Then Gary called Greg. And with that, uwithus was born.
