Mr. Schultz has applied his specialized knowledge as a chemical physicist to invent new technologies in the fields of fundamental energy conversion and hydrogen energy carriers. The Energy Chip, invented in 1970, represents the application of nanotechnology to convert heretofore inaccessible energy. His invention requires the chemical synthesis of
a family of proprietary molecules, the most advanced and powerful having been attempted by laboratory teams at SRI in Menlo Park, California and Oklahoma State University.
In 1994, Mr. Schultz invented Hydroline, a theoretical set of intrinsically renewable, carbonless, hydrogen-rich synthetic fuels. Hydroline compounds will contain unprecedented concentrations of hydrogen, stored in a stable liquid form. Importantly, this technology will readily segue into the existing fueling infrastructure. In November, 2007 a prototype Hydroline fuel was synthesized and ran a small gasoline engine, achieving an important proof-of-concept.
