Garry is a co-founder of Implicit Bioscience and has been in leadership positions in the Australian biotechnology sector since 1999 when he co-founded Peplin Ltd. As CEO, he led Peplin through its IPO on the ASX and negotiated its licensing deal with US dermatology company Allergan, which was the first ever out-licensing of an Australian
anti-cancer drug to a US pharmaceutical company. Following completion of Phase 2 clinical development, Peplin was ultimately sold in 2009 to Danish pharmaceutical company Leo Pharma AS for $297m, and the drug which commenced development under his leadership is now registered in all key international markets as Picato™.
