Frey is based in Greater China, where he supports investment and post-investment management for local portfolio companies, as well as helps portfolio companies deepen their relationships with local customers and partners.
Frey brings to TransLink a wealth of experience in the Chinese TMT sector. An investment banker at Hina Group since 2011,
Frey focuses on private placement and M&A for local clients including Baidu, Lenovo, SK Telecom, Cheyipai, Hujiang, Wisers, Duomi, and others, with a total transaction value of over $1b. Previously, he served as a Project Manager at IBM, leading a team that covered Greater China and managing the largest internal IT consulting project in Greater China. Prior to joining IBM, he worked in the Financial Services Group of Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), providing consulting services to insurance companies such as China Pacific Insurance Group, New China Life, TaiKang Life, and others.
Frey holds an MBA from Peking University, as well as a Masters in Software Engineering and BA in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Beijing Institute of Technology. Frey is a PMI-certified Project Manager (PMP). He enjoys travel, singing, and sports – especially badminton.
