Fred co-founded MetaRAM, Inc. in 2005 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Fred spent 10 years at AMD helping to get real competition to the microprocessor market with products like the AMD Athlon and AMD Opteron. At AMD, he served as Vice President of Design as well as Corporate Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. He
began his career working with Gordon Bell at Encore Computer Corporation, where he focused on parallel software development. Later, as a member of the founding team of Kendall Square Research, he participated in all aspects of hardware design including the development of CAD methodologies, the invention of the AllCache memory system, the architecture and design of the CPU and the multiprocessor verification environment. He serves as a Director Netspeed Systems and TidalscaleInc and is currently a senior advisor to Samsung, Glasspoint Solar, Ineda Systems and a number of other technology companies. Fred previously served as a member of the board of directors of MIPS Technologies prior to its acquisition by Imagination Technologies, of SeaMicro, Inc. prior to its acquisition by AMD and of GlassPoint Solar. Fred was named one of the 25 most influential CTOs by InfoWorld Magazine. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Fred studied Physics and Systems Engineering at Harvard University and received BS in Physics.
