Fred Pratt has 20 years’ experience in design, development, and installation of retrofit motor speed control systems for injection moulding machines. From Goldstar and Meiki in Korea, through Krauss Maffei and Engel in Europe to Cincinnati and Van Dorn in North America, and much more; in most industries including automotive, packaging, white goods,
construction, and household goods. As a graduate engineer, Fred’s career started with an injection molding company in England. Other companies and assignments took him around the world in field and management rôles, always within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Fred founded his own business in 1995 with a focus on introducing energy efficiency to industrial and commercial businesses. By 2000 he had the first commercial motor speed control retrofitted to an injection molding machine, and since 2008 has worked with CCS Technology in the continual development of energy-saving applications for injection moulders.
