Franklin Wiegold was born in St. Charles, Michigan. Franklin earned the degree Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Tech in 1960, and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.
Franklin began his career with Westinghouse Electric as an application and marketing engineer working with power semiconductors.
Franklin later went on to work for TRW Inc., American Standard, Silicon General Inc., Unitrode Integrated Circuits Company, and Analog Devices, Inc. Franklin has held titles of general manager, vice president, and president throughout his career.
Since retiring in 2004, Franklin serves on the corporate boards of Enpirion Inc. and Siimpel Corporation and is the lead director at Hittite Microwave Corporation.
Franklin served, from 1999 to 2003, as Vice President and General Manager of the Micromachined Products Division of Analog Devices, Inc., and from 1992 to 1999 was Vice President and General Manager of its Transportation and Industrial Products Division.
Prior to joining Analog Devices, Franklin served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Unitrode Corporation, and as President of Silicon General Inc.
Franklin currently serves on the Board of Directors of Hittite Microwave Corporation, Enpirion Inc., and Siimpel Corporation.
Franklin enjoys spending time with his wife of 43 years and their three children.
