Farouk Zabel has over 15 years experience in the electronics, component and mobile phone industry.
Farouk was a key member of the core team that successfully introduced capacitive touch technology design and manufacturing capabilities into Flextronics in 2007. Later he took over the position of Sr. Director Engineering and Design for touch
panels at Multek Displays US, a Flextronics Company.
Prior to this he held the position of the Director of the Components, Technology and Strategy Department at the Flex Mobile Design Center in Beijing, China. Among his responsibilities was definition of the technology roadmap for mobile phone components and platforms.
Zabel started his career at Siemens Mobile in Munich, Germany, in 1997 as a HW-engineer for battery development, then technical project manager for mobile phone products and eventually as Head of the Project Management team in the Siemens Mobile Design Center in Beijing.
Zabel holds patents related to the mobile phone and touch panel industry. He received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, and his Doctorate from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
