Farhat Bengdara is an executive with over 30 years of experience in central banking, commercial finance, energy, and investment across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
He served as Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (2006–2011) and Chairman of the National Oil Corporation of Libya (2022–2024). He has held board positions at UniCredit
Group, Arab Banking Corporation International Bank (London), and Bank Al Masraf (UAE), where he currently serves as Non-Executive Deputy Chairman.
Bengdara is the founder of Sohoul Agriculture, an olive farming and agricultural investment company based in Libya. He holds a Master's in Monetary Economics and Banking from the University of Sheffield.
