Eugene Wong has almost 4 decades experience as an investment banker, entrepreneur and angel investor both on the East and West Coasts. He is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A. in Finance , and of Cornell University with a B.S. in Engineering Physics . Mr. Wong is married to his wife Lai of 43 years, with two adult offspring: Byron (40)-married, and Vanessa (38). He divides his time between the Bay Area-San Francisco,CA and Nevada.
Mr. Wong was a founding member of The Aslan Group – a national group of angel
investors to early-stage companies (1998). 1995 – CEO of AmerAsia Parnters. Mr. Wong was the Managing Partner of IHG-a boutique investment bank in New York in 1990 which did the management buyout of Protection One Alarm Services and subsequent IPO; and was also engaged in the recapitalization of Sunbeam Oster, out of bankruptcy. Prior to that he served as a Managing Director of the High Yield Securities Department at Prudential Bache Securities (1987) and served on the Investment Committee of Prudential Bache Merchant Banking Fund- an $800 million private equity fund. He was a Senior Vice President in the High Yield and Convertible Bond Department of Drexel Burnham Lambert (Los Angeles) in 1983, and began his career on Wall Street with Goldman Sachs & Company
in 1973.
Mr. Wong co-founded the SF Bay Chinese Entrepreneurs Association Chapter in 2001. He is on the Advisory Board of the UNLV College of Engineering, the Advisory Board of the UNLV Center for Entrepreneurship, and is a member of the Sierra Angels (Incline Village) and the NV Angels (Switch Comm.).
