Eugene leads the corporate development team that assesses the suitability of assets and partnerships to support Hudbay’s growth strategy, as either potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships, or prospects for an investment position. In 2014, Eugene led Hudbay’s successful acquisition of Augusta Resource Corporation. He joined Hudbay in
September 2012, after 11 years as an investment banker. Prior to joining Hudbay, Eugene was Managing Director, Mining at Macquarie Capital Markets Canada, working as an advisor on global and domestic merger & acquisitions and equity capital markets offerings. Eugene holds a Bachelors of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s University. In 2015 Eugene received the CIM-Bedford Canadian Young Mining Leaders Award.
