With eight years of experience in capital markets and private investments, Ethan currently serves as a financial analyst at Extract. In this role, he reviews public and private investment opportunities in the power and infrastructure, agriculture, and mining support sectors while assisting in conducting due diligence and structuring deals for
private investments.
Starting his career as an analyst at Rothschild, an international boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, in 2006 Ethan advised international companies and private equities in corporate finance activities across various sectors, including the acquisition of power generation facilities and a takeover defense for a Canadian power generator. From Rothschild he transitioned to the buy side in 2009 as a senior analyst at a private equity firm specializing in due diligence and acquisition of international real estate assets. In 2011, Ethan co-founded Javelin Partners, a firm providing corporate finance and development advice to junior mining firms. At the same time, Ethan was a founding member of Extract Capital.
With his experience, Ethan brings a unique skillset in assessing the risk-reward of potential investments and de-risking them by combining his experience advising capital deployment from corporate, private equity and public equity perspectives, deal structuring, and corporate finance knowledge as well as experience in assessing various power and infrastructure investment opportunities.
Ethan holds an Honors Business Administration degree from Richard Ivey School of Business.
