Eric founded Hanson & Doremus Investment Management in 1995. He stepped back from his partnership role in 2021 and now focuses on investment strategy, writing, and big picture thinking .
Eric has managed money since 1971, first with Howard Bank, then Fraser Management Associates. Eric holds a BA from St. Lawrence University, where he is
Trustee Emeritus. He is also a CFA Charterholder and a CFP® Certificant.
Eric currently splits his time between Burlington and Greensboro, Vermont with his wife Yang Xin and is active in the community. He has served as Board chair of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Champlain Valley Agency on Aging (Age Well), the Vermont Nature Conservancy, Wake Robin Continuing Care Retirement Community and the Vermont Council on World Affairs.
He is currently on the boards of VTDigger, Wake Robin and the Vermont Chinese school, and is a member of the Burlington Sunrise Rotary club.
