Eric D. Kanter, M.D. is a practicing ophthalmologist with sub-specialty expertise in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery. He is an active life science angel investor and analyst performing due diligence for DCIG, serves as a member of the screening committee for Mid Atlantic Bio Angels in New York, and is a consultant to the pharmaceutical and
financial industries on ophthalmic and neuroscience drug and device development.
Dr. Kanter has been a principal investigator in multiple early and late phase interventional clinical research trials involving patients with age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Kanter is a founding member and a member of the Board of the Short Hills Surgery Center in Millburn, N.J., the largest privately owned surgery center in the state.
A graduate of Columbia College and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Kanter completed his graduate medical training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He was awarded a Fight for Sight research fellowship at the Yale University Eye Center.
