Eric Bommensath is Co-Chief Executive of Corporate and Investment Banking at Barclays. He is a member of Barclays’ Executive Committee.
Eric joined Barclays in London in 1997 as Head of Derivatives, Europe. He was appointed Head of Fixed Income in 2002. Between 2006 and August 2010 he was based in New York and held the additional position of
Head of Trading, Americas. He relocated back to London in September 2010 as Head of FICC, responsible for the Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Emerging Markets and Prime Services trading businesses globally. He also had responsibility for all trading in the EMEA region. In October 2012, he was appointed Head of Markets, responsible for trading and sales across all asset classes. Eric was appointed Co-Chief Executive of Corporate and Investment Banking on 1 May 2013, while maintaining his Markets responsibilities. He joined the Barclays Executive Committee at the same time.
Prior to joining Barclays, Eric spent eight years at Bankers Trust in London, Tokyo and Paris, and was appointed a Managing Director in 1995.
He studied Science at École Polytechnique in Paris, and Engineering at École Ponts et Chaussées.
