Eric Bauer is the Senior Business Development Manager of Partnerships at Kelvin. He has worked to design and deliver software solutions for the rail transportation industry for over 20 years. In that time, he’s experienced (and helped to foster) disruption in a sector that has traditionally exhibited a more conservative, insular attitude towards
digital innovation.
At GE Transportation, Eric is part of the Digital Solutions Office of the CTO, supporting the evolution of a century-old industrial powerhouse into one of the leaders of the new Digital Industrial age. Based at GE Digital’s headquarters and global innovation hub in San Ramon, CA, Eric uses his understanding of GE Transportation, its customers, and the rail industry to ensure strategic alignment with Predix, GE’s Industrial Internet platform, and to deliver meaningful, outcome-based results on all GET digital solutions.
Eric’s most recent focus within GE Transportation Digital Solutions has been working with a North American Class I freight railroad to design and implement a commercial solution that provides asset condition management, configuration management, and edge analytics in support of their enterprise Positive Train Control (PTC) implementation.
Prior to joining GE in 2013, Eric was Software Product Manager for Trapeze EAM – a commercial off-the-shelf enterprise asset management software platform used by public transit operators to optimize life cycle costs of transportation assets (rolling stock, track and wayside infrastructure, platforms and facilities), improve asset availability, plan and execute maintenance and inspection schedules, and provide visibility into capital improvement/State of Good Repair planning cycles. In this role, Eric worked collaboratively with customers including MBTA, CTA, MARTA, NJT, Denver RTD, and Metrolink to drive innovation and support for changing federal requirements within the product line, and within Trapeze to create integrated asset management / operations solutions across the Trapeze product portfolio.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from California State University, San Luis Obispo. He lives in Danville, CA with his wife and two young children.
