Emily is currently a deputy headteacher at Fairlands Primary School in Stevenage. Fairlands is a large primary school who are working hard to ensure good progress for all pupils. The school has a commitment to enhancing learning through the use of technology and using new technologies to inspire and motivate learners. Emily has played a key role in
embedding this range of different technologies across the school.
With the previous background in the early years Emily's outstanding practice was recently recognised through a secondment to Herts for Learning, a school improvement company dedicated to improving standards of education across Hertfordshire and beyond. The focus was across the primary curriculum but with a particular specialism in the early years foundation stage and key stage one.
Emily has led new technologies across her own school from the early years foundation stage to key stage two, alongside supporting other local schools through network groups, her secondment and on a consultancy basis. She is a firm believer that good practice begins with our youngest children and that they provide us with the foundations through which to embark on the new 2014 computing curriculum which is a challenging yet exciting step for primary age children.
