Mr. Saaski is a serial entrepreneur with a record of conceptualizing and commercializing innovative hardware for medical, industrial, and military applications. He has been a key innovator in three start-ups and a broad experience base has contributed to over thirty issued patents in areas ranging from IC cooling to cancer therapies, to optical

sensors.

In his first position as a developmental engineer, he assisted in developing miniature radio-isotope batteries, space-qualified thermal control hardware, and a novel piling stabilizer for the Alaskan Pipeline- over 120,000 copies of a device designed by Mr. Saaski are used to transfer ground heat into the arctic night sky. In addition, two-phase heat transfer structures conceived at that time by him are still used on many U.S. and Russian satellites.

Mr. Saaski next joined a start-up R&D company, Sigma Research. During his time there he became VP and General Manager, initiating sixteen diverse new projects. He subsequently founded Technology Dynamics, Inc in 1980. Mr. Saaski became involved in micromachining during this period and holds patents on a number of miniature optical sensors: About 20,000/yr. of his pressure sensors are used during brain surgeries.

In 1987 he sold a 50% position to Corning Glass and went on to develop a line of fiber-optic probes for process control. The company was awarded an R&D 100 award for an electro-optic current sensing system of Mr. Saaski’s that continues to be the standard for qualifying U.S. military aircraft for use in high-EMI environments.

In 1990, Mr. Saaski initiated his third start-up company, Research International. Under his direction, an innovative line of counter-terrorism products has been developed that are sold worldwide (www.resrchintl.com). Concurrently, Research International has developed and licensed technologies to third parties including a robotic bio detector, several micromachined drug delivery devices, and cancer therapy.
