Ellen Haley is president of CTB/McGraw-Hill, provider of a broad range of assessments, software and services serving schools, districts, states, private industry and nations around the world. Prior to her appointment as president in 2007, she was vice president, Publishing and Research, responsible for CTB’s content and test development, test
production, and research associated with all company assessment products. In this position, Ms. Haley directed senior professional content and measurement staff in the creation of complex test and research designs to ensure accurate measurement of state-specific content standards, valid and reliable scores and score interpretations.
Ms. Haley joined CTB in 1986 and has led all the organization’s major functional areas – Publishing, Research, Technology, Scoring and Programs.
Before joining CTB, Ms. Haley spent six years as manager of technical publications for Digital Research, a pioneering computer software company.
She began her career as an English instructor at Marygrove College in Detroit, while also serving as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Detroit.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and History from Marygrove College and a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Golden Gate University.
