Elizabeth's passion for the natural environment traces back to her childhood at her great-grandparents' home in Lillian, Alabama. It was here, under the tutelage of her great-grandmother, an avid gardener, that she developed a love for floral arts. This interest would later blossom into a professional pursuit.

After studying merchandising at Florida State University, Elizabeth briefly moved to New York to complete an internship. Still, her path took a significant turn when she relocated to Asheville in 2004 to be closer to her sister. There, she seized the opportunity to take over The Gardener's Cottage, a decision that would define her career.

Located in Asheville's historic Biltmore Village, her boutique is renowned for its unique inventory, including rare plants and vintage finds. Elizabeth's skill in crafting exquisite orchid arrangements for high-end hotels, such as the Grand Bohemian Hotel next door, highlights her meticulous attention to detail and creative vision.

Responding to the challenges of the pandemic, Libby innovated her business model by offering bespoke floral arrangements for delivery. This service brought comfort and beauty into the homes of her community members during a time of widespread uncertainty, keeping her business afloat and reinforcing community bonds.

Today, Elizabeth focuses on enhancing the retail experience at The Gardener's Cottage, guiding customers through a curated selection of goods that transform ordinary spaces into enchanting environments. Her expertise in merchandising and commitment to quality have solidified her reputation as a leader in the field.

Beyond the confines of her business, Elizabeth is deeply committed to her community.
