A sales professional and entrepreneur, Edwin Shoffner has held executive positions with six different mattress companies. After working as vice president of sales for Comfortaire Corporation, he co-founded American Mattress Centers in 2000 and sold the company less than two years later after securing outlets for the 24-hour unmanned sleep shop in
141 Wal-Mart supercenters.
While developing American Mattress Centers, Edwin Shoffner served as president and CEO of Mattress Man, Inc., a privately owned company that managed five sleep shops in North Carolina and carried prominent brands such as Tempurpedic, Simmons, and Serta. He performed an organized liquidation of the business' inventory in 2007 and later took on president roles with Mattress Wholesale, LLC and Mattress By Appointment.
Additionally, Mr. Shoffner manages his own real estate holding enterprise. His hobbies include attending professional sporting events and scuba diving; he is a certified scuba diver with both rescue diver and advanced open water certification. He's also an active supporter of the Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
