Named a National Law Journal “Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Trailblazer,” McAndrew recently joined Ballard after a decade as a federal cybercrime prosecutor and National Security Cyber Specialist in the U.S. Department of
Justice.
McAndrew handled some of the DOJ’s most significant cyber-cases, including the first U.S. prosecution of a foreign hacker for theft of trade secrets and the first U.S. prosecution of a Chinese national for cybercrimes committed entirely from China.
These cases involved hacking and cyber-theft of thousands of identities and over $1 billion in intellectual property from hundreds of technology companies.
