With an educational leadership background extending more than two decades, Dr. Nancy Coogan most recently engaged with the Tukwila School District in Washington State as superintendent. Her accomplishments included engaging with community-based organizations in providing assurance that 21st century digital learning standards were met. Dr. Nancy
Coogan also helped position the district at the forefront of race and equity policy implementation statewide.
Dr. Coogan previously held responsibilities as executive director of Seattle Public Schools where she oversaw improvements spanning 21 schools and 10,500 students. She set in place an arts-infused education in the areas of math and English language arts, and guided professional development activities related to the implementation of Charlotte Danielson’s Instructional Framework.
Dr. Coogan also has experience as principal of Olympic View Middle School, within the Mukilteo School District. During her six years in the leadership position, she was successful in setting in place a professional learning culture that empowered teachers and led to instructional practices that boosted academic achievement. Dr. Nancy Coogan is a recipient of the Rachel Royston Scholarship, which recognizes women educators who have provided distinguished service and made a difference in their field.
